Instagram wants you to keep sharing important moments of your life in images. But you do not want to limit yourself to Instagram carousel stories, your Snapchat clone, but you want your posts to keep popping up in the startup feed. For this, in their next update will allow you to share up to 10 photos or videos in a single post, which will be navigated as if it were an Instagram carousel, as they have published in an official statement.
You can think of these publications as a kind of “photo albums” of Instagram, which will be saved in the user’s profile permanently. The feature is not yet available but will be deployed globally for iOS and Android over the next few weeks. If Instagram consigned to combine the features it already has with this new function; then it can offer more content to its 600 million monthly users.
How does this new feature work on the Instagram carousel?
When Instagram users are going to upload new images, a button will appear on their screen to select multiple photos. From there you can edit up to 10 photos and videos individually, or with a single filter for everything. You can also choose the order and label friends in each. This many posts will share a location, a description, likes, and comments. For now, all images will have to be square.
When the content is shared in the feed, your followers and friends will see a series of blue dots in the post to indicate that it is an Instagram carousel. To view photos or videos, just drag your finger back and forth. The first picture and said points would represent the carousel in the profile of the user.
Instagram launched the ad photo Instagram carousel in the past 2015 and extended functionality to the video last year. By bringing this capability to users, the social network can standardize the practice of passing images in your post, which could make users investigate more advertising carousels.
And if it is one more reason to tell a story without resorting to Stories, not only do not have to go to Snapchat but also maybe the company of Mark Zuckerberg loses the need to include Stories everywhere.
