Volkswagen is the brand with the best reparability lists of the country, according to the Car Group 2017 ranking, of CESVI (Center for Experimentation and Road Safety). The company has won five categories in the study, which assesses the cost of repairing the ten-segment vehicles sold in us after a low-speed collision.
Representatives of Cesvi were at the Volkswagen factory in Anchieta, to deliver the five trophies. The up! Got the best general index of reparability among all the participating vehicles, with classification 10, the same as the cross up.
Volkswagen Saveiro was the champion in two categories: compact single cabin pickup and small double cabin pickup.
SpaceFox won the small station wagon segment.
The lower the score (on a scale ranging from 10 to 60), the lower the time and cost of repairing the vehicle. The up! Thus maintains the best result not only within the category but also among all the vehicles of different segments evaluated by CESVI (base January 2017).
The cross up! Also obtained a 10 rating, being the first among the off-road compact hatches.
Volkswagen Car Group
Founded in 1997, The Volkswagen Car Group index compares vehicles of the same category as to the ease and cost of their repair. Low-speed impact tests (15 km / h), with a collision of 40% of the left front and 40% of the right rear, are carried out according to the RCAR (Research Council for Automobile Repairs) International Standard.
After each impact, the extent of damage and ease of repair is studied. A calculation is made that considers the costs of the front and rear repair, replacement times and the necessary parts basket, thus generating the CAR Group index.
The study contemplates automobiles manufactured in Brazil, Mercosur and imported. The ranking update is made monthly and serves as a reference for insurers to calculate vehicle insurance prices.
