Without trust one do not have anything. Nothing out of place. Nothing walks. Nothing changes.
The main fuel of life is trust. Believe in yourself. Trust is the ability that can face every storm with a reason to exist. But trust can also deceive us. There is a fine line between confidence and overconfidence.
If there’s one thing that video games teach is that overconfidence will lead you to death. You may notice: when you’re playing, Candy Crush, and you are going very well and in a split second, you think, “Wow, how am I doing well”; “As I am too,” is sure that you will end up dying, losing points, falling off a cliff, being shot by the nearest artificial intelligence.
It’s funny that this thought is almost overwhelming, suddenly it comes, and at the same time happens the disaster. And it also happens in real life.
Because trusting too much can cause people to act rashly.
A study led by researcher Joyce Ehrlinger , the University of Washington, says that if you trust too much in itself is losing great chances of being intelligent. According to the survey, confidence makes people concentrate on the easier parts of tasks, spending less time on that are more challenging.
A little confidence can go a long way, but very high doses lead people to make mistakes and to take hasty actions, losing the opportunity to learn,” says Ehrlinger.
The survey was conducted for a behavioral study of adolescents, in which a survey with multiple choice questions was used and students who declared themselves confident were the least devoted to the issues of greatest difficulty.
“Some people develop overconfidence by do better in the easier parts of tasks. Who sees everything as a challenge to be overcome is more likely to solve the most complicated problems, whether math questions or making a decision in life ” , concluded the researcher.
Sometimes we are so sure that we have control of the situation in our thoughts, so we might lose it. So the magic of life is to keep the balance. Be confident while it is humble. Be confident without being arrogant. Be confident while learning. Be confident, but act calmly, with tranquility.
