According to Japanese blog Mac Otakara, Apple is planning to launch three new iPhone models later this year, a 4.7-inch, 5.5-inch model and another 5-inch OLED screen with a glass coating.
Another novelty is that they can also come with built-in wireless charging. Wireless charging would allow iPhone users to charge their devices without the need to plug them into a charger by just placing it on a surface, similar to the one used in the Galaxy S6 and S7. The technology, which is also known as inductive charging, uses electromagnetic fields to transmit power to a device.
Wireless charging is usually a little slower than wired charging, especially compared to the type of fast chargers that often comes with high-end handsets these days. However, in the case of the iPhone, it also solves a major problem: Since the omission of the headphone jack, consumers had to decide whether to use the integrated port for their headphones or to charge the device.
