The smartphone division of HTC Vive, Now preparing new virtual reality device for 2017 breathes with the help of handsets, but the deals around HTC Vive go very well. With the success of the virtual reality device, something that makes the company even consider turning it into an independent company, it seems that the manufacturer is preparing a second version yet for 2017 – or something.
HTC Vive chief financial officer Chia-lin Chang has previously described the company as a “virtual reality company.” More than that, the executive assured that a new product of the segment is on the way, but it is not the second generation of Vibe. According to Chang, it is something different.
One possibility is that HTC Vive follows in the footsteps of Samsung and launch a headset for use in conjunction with smartphones. Chia-lin Chang says the new product will be compatible with the new “U” line of smartphones from HTC Vive but said that the bet would not only be on a headset.
It is worth remembering that there are new rumors of a supposed HTC Vive. At the end of 2016, it was hoped that the second generation could arrive at CES 2017, something that never happened.
It is too soon to state what the manufacturer is planning, but one thing is sure. Whatever it is, it will arrive in 2017. HTC Vive has been so pleased that it has entered the list of Best Mobile Releases of the Year, standing in front of the most famous and wealthy Oculus Rift, acquired by Facebook. It remains to be seen whether the Taiwanese manufacturer will have the same success in another virtual reality device.
