Google updated its Gmail app on Android to support the Microsoft Exchange e-mail accounts – corporate e-mail account from Microsoft. By adding functionality to Gmail app, people who use Exchange can now get your corporate email, contacts and calendars on your Android devices, eliminating the need to install separate applications to send and receive work emails.
Gmail for Android already had support for Microsoft Exchange, but only on Nexus devices. Today with the support extension covers the Exchange email, contacts and calendar data in Android on all devices. In addition, Gmail for Android already supports – Gmail (naturally), Yahoo, Outlook and others.
You can download the latest version of the app on Google Play if you do not see the update, do not worry – Google says that the implementation will be gradual and can take up to three days. But it is important that you talk to someone in the IT department of your company before making the transaction to avoid problems such as locking your Microsoft Exchange mailbox.
