Ford plans to produce cars without a wheel and a pedal in less than five years, as previously announced. Also, the automaker is investing in the modernization of its products and is already selling the new Focus Electric or Ford Electric, known in the European market. The luxury model has an advanced battery system that allows you to recharge up to 80% of its capacity in just 30 minutes with a range of 225 kilometers per full battery charge. Interesting, is not it?
The Focus Electric was launch in 2013 and the first all-electric vehicle of the brand made in that continent. In North America, the model is produced since December 2011. It is one of 13 global electrified vehicles that Ford has scheduled to market in the next five years.
The new Focus Electric features an electric motor with 145 hp and a battery of 33.5 kilowatts – capacity almost 50% greater than that of its predecessor. Both the battery and the motor have liquid cooling and heating, which increases energy efficiency and prolongs the battery life.
The new Focus Electric comes out of the factory with SYNC 3 connectivity system, with voice commands for audio, navigation, and smartphones, compatible with the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto systems. It also allows connection to smart clocks to check battery status, find, lock and unlock the car remotely through the MyFord Mobile application. In recent days, the automaker announced that the SYNC 3 system could bring the internet to the passengers of the cars.
